- The first of the five attitudes required to succeed is about a willingness to learn. What is your attitude about learning new things? Here's the attitude you need to develop, "No matter what it takes, I will learn all I need to learn to grow my affiliate marketing business."
There are better ways of doing affiliate marketing and ways that lead to failure. You need to learn the better ways. Otherwise you could get burned out and disappointed very easy.
If you develop this first attitude, your chances for success are excellent.
- What is your attitude towards time and effort? Even if you work your business part-time, you're going to have to spend some time making things happen. If you take the attitude, "I'll do this business, if I have the time," you'll probably fail.
You shouldn't expect to get rich quick (no matter what some advertisements say) and you don't want your success to take forever. Well, no one is just going to hand you your success. You have to take the time and effort to make it happen.
- The above attitude leads to this one. You have to develop the attitude, "If it's going to happen, it's up to me." You can't blame other people if you don't succeed. You have to take responsibility for your results. If a farmer's crop is small, who should be blamed? Answer, the person who planted it.
You will sow what you reap. Yes, you can learn about joint ventures, and yes you can bring other people into your business, but in the end, you're the one who has to take responsibility. And... results is the name of the game.
- The fourth of the attitudes required to succeed is, "Even if I don't feel like doing it, I will discipline myself to get things done so I can get the results I want." There will be times you don't want to work on your business. If you give in to those emotions, your results will be poor.
What do you do at those times you just don't feel like working on your business? One thing you can do is to remind yourself of the benefits of success. No more boss, a better place to live, some travel, or whatever turns you on when you succeed.
- Finally, you need to develop a positive attitude to succeed. There has been much talk over the years about having a positive attitude. Imagine the reverse - going into an enterprise with a negative attitude. That negative attitude can only produce negative results.
If necessary, go back and read the success stories of people who succeeded in affiliate marketing. If they can do it, you can too. Taking that attitude will give you positive feelings. If others have done it, why not you?
You have a lot of reasons to be positive. The internet can bring good results faster than the old ways of doing business. Just ask the guys who started Google. I know, the chances of you growing your business as fast as Google are slim. But, that doesn't mean you can't reach a level of success where you can look back and say in all sincerity, "It was worth it."
